Aside from a couple of non-functional keys that I was able to re-map in the programming. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola). A while back I acquired a Kenwood TK-880 to set up as a link RX. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming.

Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate just purchase it.įor M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. A microphone is not necessary for this the TK-880 works just fine as a receiver with no microphone. KPG-49D gives you three 2-tone calls to choose from, so you'll be able to program them all in via Edit -> 2-Tone.

Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Enable AND signalling in the Optional Features 1 tab, then select one of your 2-tone calls in the Opt Signal field of channel settings. Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.
